It all goes back to our Mission:
To hold and maintain botanical and historical collections for exhibition and interpretation in order to encourage public understanding and appreciation of plants, their relationship to humanity, and the heritage of the Goodell family. This mission is accomplished through educational programming and the adaptive reuse of the buildings, land, and artifacts of the Goodell homestead and farm.
With our education-centric Mission, Goodell Gardens strives to offer high-quality educational programming to our visitors. From Garden Sprouts Preschool and our Tea Time Talks, to our Farmers Market and informational signage, we try to promote understanding of plants in a way that we hope would make the Goodell sisters proud. They were both teachers, after all!
Simply put: Education is why we're here. The rest of it is all just bonus points.
