Weather protocol & Cancelation Policy

All events, programs, and workshops at Goodell Gardens & Homestead are held rain or shine. In the event of typical inclement weather, outdoor activities will be relocated to the Events Barn or Big Tent.

Severe Weather Protocols

The safety of our guests, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. If severe weather conditions arise, we monitor the situation using the following indicators:

  • Lightning: If lightning is observed in the immediate area, outdoor activities will be suspended. Guests and staff will be directed to seek shelter indoors or inside their vehicles. While activities may resume 30 minutes after the last visible lightning flash, staff reserves the right to officially cancel the event at any point during this waiting period if conditions do not improve.

  • Local Alarms and Sirens: If local emergency sirens or weather alerts sound for our area, events will be immediately suspended. All attendees must follow staff directions to safe shelter locations.

Rescheduling & Cancellations

Should severe weather force an event to be postponed, rescheduled, or canceled, we will make every effort to reschedule as the season permits. However, due to scheduling constraints, a makeup date is not guaranteed.

Updates regarding changes or cancellations will be posted on our website and social media channels as early as possible.
