Goodell Gardens announces 2019 Summer Music Series Sponsored by Erie Federal Credit Union

EDINBORO – Live music will once again float through the beautiful landscape at Goodell Gardens & Homestead this summer. Edinboro’s public garden and accredited arboretum has announced their 2019 Summer Music Schedule.

This year the popular summer concert series is sponsored by Erie Federal Credit Union, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts – a state arts agency, Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority, and WXCS 92.9 FM.

“We are looking forward to a fantastic season of great music in the Gardens,” Goodell Gardens Executive Director Amber Wellington said. “We are so lucky to have the financial support of Erie Federal Credit Union and our other sponsors for this event. The Erie Federal Credit Union is also supplying volunteers to help collect admissions and hand out wristbands this year. I am so grateful for their support.”

The concert series kicks off with Tiger Maple String Band on June 7, 2019. Concerts are held from 7-9 p.m., and are located adjacent or inside the Events Barn at Goodell Gardens. Attendees are invited to bring a chair or blanket to sit on, though chairs are available to borrow from Goodell Gardens. Each band is paired with a local food truck or other food vendor who will sell concessions as well.

The schedule is as follows:
June 7, 2019 – Tiger Maple String Band and the SorcErie Food Truck
June 21, 2019 – Seann Clark & Friends with the Chameleon Food Truck, Riverside Brewing, and Cart/Horse Distilling – this special solstice concert runs until 10 p.m.

Admission is charged for all of the events, except June 21, which offers free admission to everyone in attendance. Regular admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, $2 for kids, free for members of Goodell Gardens, members of Erie Federal Credit Union, and students at Edinboro University.

The special Solstice Celebration on June 21 will include guided tours of the grounds and special fundraising features, including an art show featuring the photos of Margaret Goodell.

“Margaret Goodell was one of the two Goodell sisters who left their estate to become what is today Goodell Gardens. While her older sister, Carrie, was more well-known, Margaret was an accomplished amateur photographer. The Solstice Celebration will serve as an art opening for Margaret’s photo show, which will be located inside Carrie’s Cabin in our Gardens,” Wellington said, adding, “We think this is a great way to feature the work of the younger Goodell sister.”

Goodell Gardens is located at 221 Waterford Street (Route 6N), in Edinboro. For more information, visit www.goodellgardens.org

Goodell Gardens & Homestead is supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
