Goodell Gardens & Homestead is currently hiring for the following positions:

Education Coordinator


The Education Coordinator oversees, develops, and executes all educational programming at Goodell Gardens & Homestead including but not limited to field trips, workshops, and informational signage. The Education Coordinator works collaboratively with staff and volunteers of Goodell Gardens & Homestead to meet the annual goals and mission of the organization.


This position is part-time, working approximately 20 hours per week, April – November 15.


The successful applicant will have formal education and/or demonstrated knowledge and experience in horticulture, botany, environmental science or similar biological or physical science with education or program experience. Must possess excellent human relations, verbal and written communications skills, and experience working with children. Teaching certificate is preferred but not required. Experience working with volunteers, budget development and administration, and grant writing is preferred. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather required.


Rate of pay: $12 to $13 per hour to start – starting pay depending on experience

Events Assistant


The Events Assistant supports the Visitor Services Department by setting up for and cleaning up after public and private events. This is a physically-demanding job that requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively. The Events Assistant also handles some light reception and cashiering duties.


This position is seasonal, working May – October 18 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, approximately 20 hours per week. Typical work week is Friday 12 – 5 pm or 3 – 10 pm, depending on the calendar, Saturday 2 -11 pm, and Sunday 10 am – 4 pm.


The successful applicant will be at least 18 years old, and have a pleasant demeanor and good customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently. The Events Assistant works outdoors in all types of weather and must have foul weather gear including rain boots and a raincoat with a hood, as well as a pair of sturdy work boots.
Rate of pay: $8 – $10 per hour, depending on experience.

Visitor Services Assistant


The Visitor Services Assistant supports the Visitor Services Department by running the Welcome Center and Gift Shop on the weekends and during times of high visitor traffic. This includes reception and cashiering.


This position is seasonal, working May – October on Saturdays and/or Sundays, between 6 and 12 hours per week.


The successful applicant will have a pleasant demeanor and good customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Customer service, cashiering, or reception/front desk experience preferred.


Rate of pay: $8 – $10 per hour, depending on experience.
